in a news nutshell

in a news nutshell zurück zum Inhalt Integrated Systems Europe 2019 February 5 – 8, RAI Amsterdam Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world’s largest tradeshow for the professional AV and electronic systems industry, is expected to attract more than 1,300 exhibitors and more than 80,000 registered attendees. The exhibition will again be preceded on the day before the main ISE show floor opens by the Smart Building Conference (www.smartbuildingconference. com) and the Audio Forum (www.audioforum. connessioni.biz). Donato Masci, acoustic designer and consultant, working for the Florence-based company Studio Sound Service, will be presenting the listening experience and psychological factors. Ambarish Mitra, the co-founder and CEO of augmented reality technology company Blippar, will present the ISE Opening Address on February 4. Mitra will discuss how augmented reality and artificial intelligence are disrupting key vertical sectors served by the professional AV industry, and what future developments are likely to bring. The Opening Address will take place in the Forum of the RAI, shortly after the conclusion of the Smart Building Conference. It will be followed by the ISE Opening Reception. Both events are free to attend. During ISE further conferences are e. g. the XR Summit on February 5 and the Digital Signage Summit and the Digital Cinema Summit on February 6. Hospitality Technology Next Generation, a trade association dedicated to driving best practice in the hotel industry through the adoption of technology, is presenting Hospitality Tech Summit by HTNG. Emmy Award-winning sound designer Scott Willsallen will be giving a keynote at the AGORA conference on sports venue technology. The Closing Keynote on February 8 will be delivered by Tupac Martir, creative director of multidisciplinary art, design and creative production group Satore Studio, and co-founder of the studio’s sister venture Satore Tech. CEDIA Education Again CEDIA will bring a full catalogue of technical courses, including hands-on workshops, deep dives into subjects such as acoustic calibration and design, and a host of other courses helping to inform and improve integration expertise. CEDIA will also present a number of emerging trends courses: From advanced display technology to augmented and virtual reality. Brand new for ISE 2019, CEDIA brings a full-day Home Cinema Design Masterclass to the show on February 4, which will be taught by three experts in the field - Joel Silver, Anthony Grimani, and Theo Kalomirakis. The masterclass will feature three ‘deep dive’ sessions focussing on video performance, advanced audio techniques, and the cinema environment. The masterclass is available to book at an early bird rate of 210 Euros for members and 280 Euros for non-members, available until January 8, 2019. www.iseurope.org/shop/#ticketshopproduct The CEDIA All Access Training Pass, which gives unlimited entry to CEDIA education sessions during the show (excluding Monday’s Home Cinema Design Masterclass), is available for pre-booking at an Early Bird rate of 227.50 Euros for members and 280 Euros for non-members until January 8, 2019. Alternatively, individual courses can be booked on an à la carte basis. CEDIA Talks: Presented by industry thought leaders, these free, 20-minute sessions are hosted on the CEDIA booth (1-E10, 1-E20) every day of the show with no need to book in advance. www.iseurope.org/cedia-education New for ISE 2019, the Main Stage will host free-to-attend educational and thought leadership presentations, produced by CEDIA, ISE, AVIXA, and AV Magazine. Technology integrators who won a 2018 EMEA CEDIA Award will be partnering up with brand representatives to talk through their award-winning projects and explain how they did it. www.iseurope.org © Thomas Krackl European Youth Award (EYA) 2018 EYA’s main aim is to support and encourage young people to use digital technologies to create solutions that improve the lives of people. The seventh edition of the European Youth Award brought together twenty-four members of jury in Prishtina, Kosovo, to decide on twelve winning projects. The winners were invited to the EYA Festival 2018 at the “Dom im Berg” in Graz. The winning projects of EYA18 were evaluated with regard to their creativity, digital implementation, sustainability and economic potential. food+x (http://foodplusx.com) received the awards for best business case and social impact project and emerged as the EYA Digital Champion and Overall Winning Project. Jury Evaluation: “We consider Food+x to be a highly innovative project that is using blockchain technology to solve an important social problem: food waste. By building on existing © EYA | M. Rauch ecosystems that already tackle the problem, Food+x is providing relevant solutions to the need for product traceability and trust across the supply chain, saving time and resources of retailers, distributors and beneficiaries.” The project is comprised of the blockchain powered Food+x platform, Robin Food Stores and the Robin Food Bank. The well-established B2B online platform strategically matches sellers and buyers of surplus food. It currently involves 120 leading European retailers, distributors, manufacturers and Horeca organisations. The Robin Food Stores provide public access to quality food that would otherwise end up as waste at discounted prices. The Robin Food Bank collaborates with charities to donate food to needy people. The platform provides two-way product traceability and transparency across the supply chain, increasing trust, saving time, reducing costs and business risks. https://eu-youthaward.org Dalibor Matijevic, Food+x MEDIA BIZ
